Wednesday

We started off Wednesday with Pat working a little from the hotel room while Rachel slept in. I think she needed it. About 10:30 we started the drive to Mount Vernon, George Washington's estate. They've done a great job with updating it, with a new visitor's center (including museum and movie theater), but since most of the tour was outside and it was horribly hot and humid, we toured the main house, saw George and Martha's tomb, and departed.

Next, we drove down the Museum of the Marine Corps near Quantico. It's very well done, and unfortunately Rachel and I only had about 90 minutes there before they closed. We barely made it through 1/4 of the museum before we had to leave.

Last, we went to Arlington National Cemetery, seeing the graves of John and Robert Kennedy, as well as observing the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

Back in the room, we finished "Pirates of the Caribbean" and went to sleep relatively early. Today we're touring the Capitol.
