Fearing the Crash
Even though I am really sick of all the campaigning, the commercials, the constant news reports, I realized today that I am not really looking forward to Nov. 4. I know - it's coming and we'll all be glad to welcome the Viagra ads back, but Nov. 4 is the end. No matter who wins - it's the end.
Right now we're living the anticipation. We're feeling the excitement, and we're imagining the possibilities. People are so passionate right now they are creating beautiful pieces like this and this. People care! (OK - even this one).
The pessimist in me worries that fear will prevail on Nov. 4 and we'll end up with an angry, old man and a half-baked Alaskan in the White House. If that does happen, I will miss this time in history even more. I also fear that even with a change, nothing will really change. We'll never really get anything done in this state of gridlock.
My hope is that we do let Hope win this one. I want us to give ourselves a chance to be better people, better world citizens, better Americans. All of the excitement and passion has to be put to work. We all have to care again.

Fear not, Kris. What's meant to happen, will. And we are READY for change just as much as we're talking, singing, and dreaming about. The time is now. It can't get any worse. And Bush's days are numbered (finally!). Something HAS to change. And it will. Keep the faith.
